The tentative agreement reached between Major League Baseball’s players and owners ends the threat of a strike in the final month of the season and gets the approval of the Missouri business community. Dan Mehan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce applauds the deal, saying a strike would have had a very negative impact on the tourism, restaurant, and hotel industries in the state – particularly in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. Mehan says the state needs all the economic activity it can get at this time and the agreement will help keep dollars flowing in.
