Cards Bats Come Alive Against Reds

The Cardinals pounded the Reds 9-2 in Cincinnati last night. Kerry Robinson drove in three runs in the sixth inning thanks to a miscue from Ken Griffey Jr. Miguel Cairo, Jim Edmonds, J.D. Drew, Scott Rolen, Albert Pujols and Mike DiFelice also had RBI’s. Garret Stephenson allowed 4 hits and no runs in 4 innings. It was his first appearance since May 30th. He’s been battling hamstring and shoulder injuries. Steve Kline was the winner in an inning and a third of relief. The Cards remain three and a half games ahead of the Astros in the NL Central. The Cards and Reds play at 11:35 this morning.
