Some Air National Guardsmen in St. Louis and St. Joseph have been told their callup to active duty has been extended for another year. About 125 individuals are involved, 75 from St. Louis and the rest from St. Joseph. They provide air base security. Some of them are overseas. Some are guarding domestic bases. They’ve been on active duty since last September’s terrorist attacks because the Air Force doesn’t have enough active-duty people to provide security at its bases.
