The Royals lost to the Twins at home on Thursday 8-6. They trailed 8-3 going into the ninth. Joe Randa, Carlos Beltran and Raul Ibanez all drove in runs, but their comeback fell short of a win. Ibanez drove in three runs with three singles. The Royals certainly had their chances before the ninth inning. Kansas City stranded nine runners on the base paths on last night. Runelvys Hernandez was the losing pitcher dropping to 3-2 on the season. Minnesota has a 16-game lead over Chicago in the American League Central.
