Federal Court Considers Holden Executive Order

August 23, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The effort to throw out Governor Holden’s order giving more state workers full union bargaining rights is now before a federal court in Kansas City. A coalition and two legislators have filed a federal lawsuit, claiming Holden exceeded his authority in issuing the executive order. They say it circumvents the legislature, which has the power to change the laws that now limit bargaining rights for state workers.
