The Royals toped the Blue Jays yesterday afternoon 7-4. Mike Sweeney tied the game up at one apiece with an RBI single in the third inning. Kansas City exploded for five runs in the fourth inning thanks to Neifi Perez’s RBI single and Carlos Beltran’s 20th home run of the year. The three-run shot made it 6-1. Raul Ibanez also drove in a run in the eighth inning. On the mound, rookie Shawn Sedlacek allowed four runs and five hits in five innings, but still collected his third win of the season, he’s 3-3. Roberto Hernandez pitched the ninth inning to get his 23rd save of the season. The Royals finished the six-game road trip with a 4-2 record. It was their first winning road trip of the season.
