Raul Ibanez provided just enough firepower for the Royals to beat the Blue Jays 6-5. Ibanez’s 12th inning three-run homer gave Kansas City a 6-3 lead. Disaster almost struck in the bottom half of the inning when Roberto Hernandez surrendered two runs off four hits, but held on for his 22nd save of the year. Jeremy Affeldt was the winner in relief. Kit Pellow hit his second home run of the season and Michael Tucker drove in two runs with a single and a sacrifice fly. The sac, came in the fifth inning, tying the game at three.
