Drug Companies Deny Liability in Courtney Case

August 21, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Two major drug companies have asked a court to rule they have no liability in the drug-dilution case of Kansas City pharmacist Robert Courtney. Bistol-Meyers-Squibb and Eli Lilly have asked a judge to throw out the lawsuits filed against them. The companies claim they did not know Courtney was diluting drugs he bought from them and, even if they had known, were under no legal obligation to inform authorities. The suit says they knew, or should have known, Courtney was watering down chemotherapy drugs. About 400 lawsuits have been filed against the companies.
