It’s hard to imagine a team pitching any better and getting a single win. That was the fate of the Webb City Little League baseball team. They lost their final Little League World Series match up yesterday with a 2-1 loss to Hawaii and it was another heart breaker. Hawaii hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase Webb City’s 1-0 lead and to send them home. In their three losses, the team from southwest Missouri allowed just five runs. They knew coming into the contest that it would be their swan song in Williamsport. Earlier in the day, Worcester, Massachusetts topped Fort Worth, Texas 7-0. Had Fort Worth won, Webb City could have advanced with a win over Hawaii. Webb City was the first team from Missouri to ever make it to the L.L.W.S.
