Governor Holden has written an open letter to the teachers of Missouri encouraging them as many schools open across the state. Holden spoke on the steps of West Elementary School in Jefferson City, the school his youngest son attends. Holden pledged his support to the state’s teachers and stated parents need to do their part as well to ensure their children get a quality education. Holden said parents should make sure their children get plenty of sleep, have a set study time away from distractions and encourage reading. The governor added parents should show an interest in school activities and support their children’s teachers.
