After losing in front of a hostile crowd on Friday, the Cardinals bounced back on both Saturday and Sunday to take two of three from the Phillies. Yesterday St. Louis came away with a 5-1 win. The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Albert Pujols when Albert Pujols drove in a run with a single. Then later in the inning, Edgar Renteria connected for his first grand slam to make it 5-0. Matt Morris was the winner, pitching eight innings. He gave up only one run to earn his 15th win of the season. The Cardinals have won eight of their last ten and have a five game lead over the Astros and a five and a half game lead over the Reds. The Cardinals play host to the Pirates tonight for the first of four at Busch Stadium.
