A portion of $206-Billion of National Tobacco Settlement money is going to Missouri tobacco farmers. Robin Perso runs the State Agriculture Department’s Tobacco Program. He says the money will help those farmers move into different crops. Perso says this is the third payment made in Missouri, catching the state up with the other states that had finalized deals for portions of thetobacco settlement. He says after the December payment, there will be payments each year for the next nine years.
