The Jackson County Medical Examiner believes cocaine caused Darrell Porter’s death on August 5th. Dr. Thomas Young said Porter used the drug the day he died and experienced what he described as excited delirium. Porter ran his car on to a tree stump and left the car running, never bothering to call anyone for help. He died soon after. Porter was believed to have kicked drugs after going through rehab over twenty years ago. He was 50 years old.
