The Cardinals won their second straight with a 9-0 shutout of the Mets. Scott Rolen hit his first home run since coming to St. Louis. He went 3-3 on Sunday, with three RBI’s. He was a double short of hitting for the cycle. Edgar Renteria and Albert Pujols drove in two runs apiece. On the mound, Chuck Finley went seven innings allowing just five hits and striking out seven. He improved to 3-2 since being traded to St. Louis last month. The Cardinals took two of three from the Mets this weekend and kept their two-game lead intact, but over a different team. The Reds are now in second place, while the Astros dropped to third, trailing by three…Ozzie Smith was honored at Busch Stadium, as a statue of his likeness was unveiled yesterday. It shows Smith diving for a ball. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame last month.
