Some law experts say once a bill is signed, it’s law, but Governor Bob Holden has vetoed two bills he says he mistakenly signed. Holden’s office realized his mistake within 24 hours of the signing and sending to Secretaryof State Matt Blunt’s office for official filing. Blunt allowed Holden to take back the bills and veto them before the July 12th deadline. One bill dealt with the effective dates of a referenda and of a veto override. The other dealt with licensing of physical therapists. Neither sponsor of the two two bills are fighting the action.
