Transportation Officials Taking New Look At Toll Roads

Highway commissioners are listening to suggestions by some of the opponents of the recently failed transportation tax to increase user fees, specifically toll roads. It would take a change in the state’s constitution to make toll roads in the state a reality. Commissioners are instructing Transportation Department officials to talk to lawmakers about getting toll roads in front of voters. Voters ultimately would have to make the final decision on toll roads.
