Springfield Hillcrest topped Dunklin Coutnry 4-3 in ten innings in game one of the American Legion State baseball tournament yesterday in Columbia. Hillcrest will face Kirksville in the winners bracket. Kirksville shut out Sedalia 9-0. Hillcrest hasn’t made the tournament since the late ‘80’s, Kirksville was the runner-up last year.The loser of the Dunklin County-Sedalia game will be eliminated tonight. Dunklin County has made it to the tournament three of the last four years, winning it in 2000. Sedalia hasn’t made it since 1953.
