The Kansas City energy company, Aquila, says it lost $810-Million in the second quarter of this year. Most of the loss is because Aquila wrote off $693-Million in a bad investment in another company. Although Aquila’s stock has lost 80 percent of its value, and the company reports the $810-Million loss, it is paying some of its executives bonuses – $26-Million worth. Aquila says it needs to pay the bonuses to keep those people from leaving.
