Conservation Department Guidelines Ban Previously Okay Activities

August 6, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

New guidelines put out by the State Conservation Department bans certain activities in public areas. The Department’s Jane Epperson says there have been no specific problems with what’s been going on in conservation areas. But she says Department officials were concerned state areas were not being used for the intended purposes. Among the banned activities: no radio-controlled airplanes, boats, and cars, no car shows, and no mineral prospecting. A set of eight public use guidelines has been sent out to area managers.
