At the professional golf tournament in Springfield, Patrick Sheehan shot in a 9-under 63 to take a first round lead at Highland Springs Country Club. He shot nine birdies and just one bogey for the low round of the day. Missouri Amateur champ Michael Letzig of Richmond and James Farrell of Kansas City shot even par 72’s. Kory Bowman of Springfield shot a 74, Scott Siebert of Ballwin finished at 78. Zoran Zorkic and Michael Connell are at -7.
