Missouri Congressman Comments On Traficant Future

July 26, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Northeast Missouri Congressman Kenny Hulshof says expelled Ohio Congressman James Traficant might be out of Congress, but it might not be permanent. Hulshof says if Traficant is jailed or put on some type of probation inOhio, the embattled former lawmaker, who was expelled this week, would stay on the ballot and could win. Hulshof believes public opinion back in Ohio has turned againstTraficant. Hulshof says the loss of Traficant’s vote in the House would have little impact as the Ohio Congressman had already been removed from committee assignments and the House Democratic Caucus for voting for a Republican Speaker of the House.
