Cards Drop Giants, Drew Does It All

J.D. Drew drove in all four Cardinal runs as St. Louis beat San Francisco 4-3. Drew gave the Birds at 1-0 lead with an RBI single. In the sixth, Drew got the Cardinals out of a 2-1 hole with a three-run homer, his 14th of the season. Travis Smith allowed three runs over seven innings for his to improve to 4-1 on the season. Closer Jason Isringhausen worked a perfect ninth inning to grab his 24th save of the year. The Cardinals now come back to Busch Stadium to face the Cubs this weekend….Cardinals General Manager Walt Jocketty has confirmed that the team is exploring the possibility of making a trade for Phillies All-Star first baseman Scott Rolen.
