Missouri’s Director of Transportation is trying to clear up rumors in his Department over the tax increase to increase funding. Henry Hungerbeeler says there has been some misinformation about what Proposition B will do and won’t do. He says he has sent out some e-mails to set the record straight for his employees. Hungerbeeler says for example, there was a rumour going around there would be no pay raises for MoDOT employees if Proposition B passed. He says that’s not true. In fact, he says the fate of a pay raise is not tied to the measure. Hungerbeeler believes pay raises will come only if the economy gets better. And, he says the Department’s approach to handling questions about Proposition B has come after careful legal counsel. Hungerbeeler says he has worked hard to rebuild the Department’s reputation and does not want to do anything to tarnish it.
