A civil trial related to the accident that took the life of Kansas City Chief Derrick Thomas has been scheduled for next July. The lawyer for the Thomas family has told the Kansas City Star he expects the trial to be held a year from now. The family has filed suit against General Motors and two other companies, claiming they are responsible forThomas’ death. He died two weeks after the wreck. The suit has been filed by Thomas’ mother and the mothers of hischildren.
