For the second time in the last three games, the Royals won with a walk off home run. Kansas City trailed Chicago 3-2 in the 9th inning before winning 5-3. Carlos Beltran led off the 9th with a home run to tie it. Raul Ibanez reached with a single and Michael Tucker sent everyone home with a two-run homer. Starter Paul Byrd went the distance to improve to 13-6. He’s tied with Boston’s Derek Lowe for the American League lead in victories. The Royals have won seven straight for the first time since June of 1995. They face the Indians this weekend.
