Federal officials are on the scene in Lee’s Summit investigating the cause of a fatal plane crash that killed two people. The plane crashed just short of a house in Lee’s Summit, about 500 yards from the airport, killing the plane’s two occupants. The plane caught fire and forced residents of the house to flee. No one in the housewas injured. Relatives identified the pilot as 62-year-old Roger Goodwin of Lee’s Summit, the recently retired pastor of the First Baptist Church of Grandview. His passenger was Charles “Phil” Wilson of Belton.
