The Royals say they need to lower their payroll and getting rid of pitching may be the cure. General Manager Allard Baird told the Kansas City Star that the team will entertain offers for Jeff Suppan and Paul Byrd, who lead the team in wins. Suppan won his 8th last night, Byrd who pitches today has won 12 in 2002. The Cardinals are reportedly intereseted in Suppan.
