Billboard Law Soon To Change Landscape

July 16, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

New rules covering billboards along the state’s roads will soon be evident. Legislation sponsored in the Senate by Senator Morris Westfall of Halfway and signed into law by Governor Bob Holden will move the spacing betweensigns from 600 feet to 1,400 feet. And, billboard companies will have to pay higher fees. The greater spacing between signs will not be noticed anytime soon. Existing signs are grandfathered and will be where they are until they fall down or are removed by the companies.
