Governor Bob Holden has signed four crime-related bills during a visit to Missouri Highway Patrol Headquarters in Springfield. Two of the bills deal with the registration of sex offenders. One closes a loophole in the law, known as Megan’s Law, which covers sex offender registration. A court determined the law previously stated that offenders had to register only at the time they moved into a county. Another bill says those who are convicted of certain sexual assault crimes are prevented from being released from prison during the appeals process.
