GOP Alleges Carnahan Campaign Violations

July 11, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Republican Party plans to file charges Friday with the Federal Election Commission against Senator Jean Carnahan. Those charges allege the Senator and her campaign staff have knowingly conspired with several non-profit groups to carry out political activities on behalf of the Senator. The Republicans claim the activities have not been reported to election authorities and constitute violations of election law. The GOP claims it has obtained evidence that illustrates the involvement and cooperation of the non-profits with the Carnahan campaign.
