Gonzalez Cleans Glass In Hoops Debut

July 11, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez grabbed eleven rebounds in 23 minutes of play for the Miami Heat’s summer league team yesterday. Gonzalez didn’t get off the bench in the teams opener on Tuesday. He led the team in rebounds and minutes yesterday as the Heat beat the Pacers 72-71. Gonzalez still insists that he’ll play for the Chiefs this season despite the contract dispute he’s having with Kansas City. He says he’d like to try to play in the NBA after football season. The summer league teams are comprised of rookies and free agents.
