Sweeney’s Finger OK, Ready For All-Star Game

July 9, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Mike Sweeney was a little worried last week when he cut his finger last week and it required stitches. Luckily, for Sweeney, it won’t prevent him from playing in tonight’s All-Star Game in Milwaukee. Sweeney leads the majors with a .361 batting average. This is his third straight All-Star appearance. The last Royal to go to three in a row was George Brett. He’s Kansas City’s lone representative in the mid-summer classic.
