The untimely death of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Darryl Kile has many Missourians wondering about their own hearts. Kile died as a result of a heart condition. Doctor Frank Bleyer, a cardiologist at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, says activity is the key to a healthy heart. He adds Kile was the exception as an active person with a heart condition. Bleyer says blood pressure and cholesterol checks are tests that can bedone by people during regular visits to the doctor. If there’s a history of heart trouble in the family, a patient should bring that up to his or her doctor and further tests might be conducted.
