A lawsuit against the State Transportation Department accuses it of desecrating ancient Indian burial places and treating the remains disrespectfully. The Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma has filed a federal lawsuit in federal court in Kansas City. The Department denies the lawsuit’scontention that the Department improperly took items for a burial mound in the patch of a new part of Highway 136 near the Iowa border.
