Cardinals Remember Kile With Memorial and Win

June 27, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Yesterday afternoon the St. Louis Cardinals held a memorial service at Busch Stadium to remember the life of Darryl Kile. Current and former teammates like Woody Williams, Mike Matheny, Dave Veres, Pete Harnisch, and Doug Drabek all remembered Kile as a motivator and a man who loved people. Wednesday night, the Cardinals beat the Brewers 5-2, ending a four-game losing streak. It was their first win since Kile’s death. Williams got his fifth win of the year and Mike Matheny had three hits and two RBI’s. Williams drove in a run as well. Jason Isringhausen grabbed his 16th save.
