Holden Signs Law Governing State’s Agricultural Sector

June 24, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Bob Holden has signed legislation providing new production and marketing options for Missouri’s farmers and farmer-owned cooperatives. Among other provisions, the law will enhance ethanol and biodiesel production in the state, strengthen the state’s AgriMissouri marketing program, and authorize the State Department of Agriculture to certify products as organic and increase funding for grape and wine research. The bill contains many of the recommendations made by the task force created last year to find ways to improve the agricultural sector.
