State Child Support Enforcement Division Director Gary Bailey says his staff is working with the staff of State Auditor Claire McCaskill as she continues to scrutinize the operation. McCaskill recently issued a news release disclosing duplicate child support checks were mailed out again, this time in St. Louis. The division issued more than one million dollars in duplicate checks in November. Bailey points out the division reached agreement with the company contracted to issue checks to reimburse $200,000 to the state to make the fund whole. He says he’s satisfied the problems that triggered the duplicate checks in November have been solved. Nevertheless he pledges cooperation with the state auditor staff as it conducts two additional audits of the division.
