State Highway Commissioners will decide by next Tuesday (June 25th) which of the three options they’ll choose should voters approve a tax increase for more transportation funding. The commissioners have been presented with three options for spending the additional money. Two set aside special funding for interstate improvements; one does not. Voters in August will be presented with a proposal to increase the sales tax by half a cent and the fuel tax by four cents. The tax increase is expected to raise $483-Million annually.
