Abuse Victim Addresses Catholic Bishops

June 14, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

After years of protesting on the outside, St. Louis activist David Clohessy got to go inside and tell 300 Roman Catholic Bishops about the abuse he says he suffered as a child at the hands of a priest. Clohessy has picketed the US Conference of Catholic Bishops for the past ten years, holding signs asking bishops to protest children. This yearthe bishops, meeting in Dallas, invited Clohessy to speak to them along with others who have described the sexual abuse of children by priests. Clohessy says nothing will repair the damage done, but now the bishops have heard from survivors.
