Royals Lose, Players Hurt

June 13, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals lost 13-5 to the Marlins yesterday afternoon. Paul Byrd allowed eight runs, dropping to 8-5 on the season. Kansas City dropped two out of three to the Marlins. The big story yesterday had to do with a sudden rash of injuries. Mike Sweeney was out with asprained ligament in his ankle, Paul Byrd had an MRI for inflamation in his shoulder, and Donnie Sadler left the game with a pulled hamstring. Sweeney should play on this weekend, Byrd isn’t expected to miss a start, and the word’s still out on Sadler.
