Miss Metro St. Louis Shandi Finnessey has been crowned the new Miss Missouri. Finnessey overcame an injury earlier in the day to perform her own piano rendition of “Flight of the Bumblebee” Saturday night. Her hands were slamed in a car door, but ice all day reduced the swelling so she could play. Finnessey says she wasn’t about to let a little injury end her dream. Finnessey is pursuing a graduate degree in counseling at LindenwoodUniversity in St. Louis. She will represent Missouri at the Miss America pageant this fall.
