Governor Signs Budget Balancing Bill

June 8, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Bob Holden has signed legislation allowing the state to sell a portion of Missouri’s share of the national tobacco settlement. The measure was approved with bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. Holden calls the bill a key component to balancing the state budget because it provides financial resources and flexibility for Fiscal Years 2003 through 2006. The Governor adds this measure will be extremely useful as the state navigates its long-term financial course.
