June 7, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The state agency that deals with problem gamblers is boosting its efforts to help those addicts. The Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling is launching new programs aimed at letting the gamblers and their families know where help can be reached. Alliance Chairman Gary Gonder saysthat while only a small percentage of players has problems, the situation can be devastating. Among other things, the Alliance is increasing awareness of its 888-BETSOFF phone number – the so-called “help line” for gambling addicts, their families, and their friends.
