Royals Win Despite Shaky 9th

June 7, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Royals reliever Roberto Hernandez snagged his 10th save of the year as Kansas City topped Chicago 4-3. But there’s more to it than that. Hernandez allowed two two-out hits in the 9th to make it interesting. He got the final out to get the save. Starter Darryl May was the winner. It was his first victory since 1997. He played the last four seasons in Japan….Outfielder Chuck Knoblach is headed to the 15-day DL with a strained forearm. He’s hittng .167. Brandon Berger has been called up from Triple A Omaha to fill his spot on the roster.
