Former St. Louis County Councilman Sentenced For Taking Bribes

June 7, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Former St. Louis County Councilmember Robert Young IV has been sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for taking bribes from a taxicab company when he was on the Council. Federal District Judge Donald Stohr handed Young the sentence, state citizens are right to expect and demand integrity from officeholders. The judge also gave the same sentence to the airport taxi operator who paid the bribe. Young could spend less than five months in prison under current federal rules. The leniency grew from Young’s cooperation with authorities in investigating the scheme.
