University of Missouri President Manuel Pacheco is talking again about state budget cuts – now discussing the possibility of one of the system’s four campuses being closed down. Pacheco made the comments during a meeting of the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education. He told those in attendance that most Missourians have no idea how severe the situation is, adding it is no longer possible to cut without looking at eliminating programs. He went on to say the University might have to seriously look at a complete reorganization, including possible elimination of programs or complete institutions. He says no specific campus is being targeted at this time.
