Metal Detector Problem Leads To St. Louis Airport Evacuation

May 31, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The failure of a metal detector at Lambert-St. Louis airport has led to the evacuation of part of the airport. Dozens of flights were delayed. Hundreds of passengers had to go through security a second time. Bomb dogs were taken into the east terminal and to Concourse D. Nothing was found, except the cause of the failure of the detector. It appears somebody unplugged it or turned it off, perhaps while another machine was being worked on.
