Two of Missouri’s former United States Senators, both of whom oppose abortion, say they support cloning stem cells for medical research. Former Senators John Danforth and Thomas Eagleton say the stem cell research could save millions of lives. Both say they oppose cloning a human being. Danforth says a proposed law from Kansas Senator Sam Brownback – which would ban all cloning – is ill-conceived.
