St. Louis County says it still wants the Cardinals in St. Louis City and says it’s offer of financial help remains on the table. The County is offering the Cardinals $2-Million a year for 20 years, with a built-in three percent inflation factor. City Mayor Francis Slay will meet with County executive Buzz Westfall next week to talk about new moves to keep the Cardinals in downtown St. Louis. Slay says he’s already met with lawyers, labor and financial leaders, and others about new options to convince the Cardinals to stay in downtown St. Louis. The Cardinals have started entertaining options from other cities afterthe Legislature refused to approve financial aid for a new stadium.
