GOP Senate Candidate Promotes Health Care Proposal

May 23, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Republican Senate Candidate Jim Talent says if he’s elected he’ll work to extend health care coverage to about 40-Million uninsured Americans. Talent says he wants to be “a health care Senator.” Talent thinks a plan he pushed twice when he was in the House might stand a better chance if he’s in the Senate. The plan is intended to help small business owners, their employees, and their families get greater access to affordable insurance. The House approved it twice. But both times, Talent’s idea died in the Senate.Talent is considered the chief Republican opponent to incumbent Senator Jean Carnahan.
